Our History

Back in 1991, with nothing but a dream, a strong work ethic, and a passion for quality, Mike Escher kicked off Cape Cod-based Dirtworks. In the early days, it was all hands-on deck, with Escher personally tackling labor-intensive work on small parking lots and residential driveways. It took two years to snag a skid steer loader and another two before the company could boast an asphalt paver.

During those initial years, Escher wasn’t just building the business; he was building a team. Nights weren’t spent in front of the TV but delving into paving magazines, absorbing everything about the industry. As the team grew, Escher made it a point to share his knowledge, emphasizing that the journey of learning never stops.

As Dirtworks flourished on Cape Cod and over the bridge, Escher laid out a strategic plan to broaden the company’s horizons. While the primary focus remained on asphalt pavement, Escher diversified, adding excavation, demolition, snow removal, and landscaping services to the mix.

Even after two decades in the industry, Escher maintains the same dedication to customers. Everyone gets treated with respect, every call is answered, and every customer gets that personal and exceptional attention to detail. Asphalt Paving

Snow Removal
